RFS launches Foreign & Commonwealth Logo Competition for Military Children

This summer, Recruit for Spouses (RFS) is running a competition for military children aged between 6 and 16 to design a logo for the British Military Foreign & Commonwealth Community.

The aim of the competition is to produce a logo that represents all areas of the British Military Foreign Commonwealth.

HOW WILL THE LOGO BE USED?

The logo will be used on a dedicated “RFS Foreign & Commonwealth Community” Facebook group, which will signpost those coming into the British military from Commonwealth countries to a range of support options that meet their very specific needs.

These include, but are not limited to, assistance with finding employment and navigating the British employment market, providing support with writing CVs, supporting members with finding schools for their children and understanding the nuances of the British school system, as well as administrative support with Visas. But most importantly, this is about creating a special kind of community which will help military spouses, partners and their families settle into their new environment quickly and easily.

WHO CAN ENTER?

The competition is open to military children aged between 6 and 16 years.

HOW DO THEY ENTER?

Once your child has created the logo, simply take a photo of the finished item, and email it to c.keen@recruitforspouses.co.uk along with their full name and age.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday 31st August.

The winner will be chosen by this wonderful Judging Panel:

  • Heledd Kendrick, CEO of Recruit for Spouses

  • Geordan Murphy, NED of Recruit for Spouses and international Rugby star

  • Louise Fetigan, CEO of Little Troopers

  • Yog Raj Rai, Presenter at BFBS Gurkha Radio.

The design that RFS feels best represents this community will win a fantastic prize, which will be announced at a later date, once the Judging Panel has made its final decisions.

DESIGN GUIDELINES:

Get your child to design an eye-catching logo that reflects the Foreign Commonwealth British military community – a logo that echoes the different cultures that make up the commonwealth, one that conveys a sense of community and team spirit, and of course, represents the Military too. Apart from that, the rest is up to them and their individual creativity.

HINTS AND TIPS:

  • Any drawing tools can be used – pens, pencils, paint, crayons, pastels etc

  • Make sure the logo is clear and easy to read

  • Any colours can be used

Good luck!
