The Military Coworking Network (MCN) Delivery Team are delighted to be able to share that the MCN has received additional funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, supported by the MOD, to ensure an additional year of support while we seek a permanent home for the MCN.
We are obviously thrilled with this significant milestone in the organisation’s future to support the Armed Forces community through coworking opportunities.
The transition marks an exciting period of growth and sustainability for the network, which has already demonstrated strong demand for dedicated coworking spaces tailored to service partners, reserves, and wider Armed Forces families as well as our excellent online offer. This transitional grant recognises the Military Coworking Network’s impact to date and its potential to deliver long-term, meaningful support through a permanent facility.
A permanent home will allow the Military Coworking Network to:
Provide consistent, accessible workspace for military families and reserves
Expand community-building and professional development opportunities as well as reduce isolation and loneliness
Support employment, entrepreneurship, and studying
Strengthen partnerships across the Armed Forces and local communities
“This transitional grant is a huge vote of confidence in what we’re building,” said Andrea Devlin, Director, RAF Families Federation “Securing a permanent home will allow us to create stability, grow our community, improve wellbeing, and provide long-term support for members of the Armed Forces community who need flexible, professional working environments.”
The Military Coworking Network has grown rapidly by responding to the unique challenges faced by military families, including frequent relocations, career disruption, and isolation. A permanent home for the MCN will allow the organisation to deepen its impact and expand its reach.
Over the next 12 months, the MCN Team will be actively exploring locations, building partnerships, and developing a sustainable long-term model to secure its future within the Defence offer.
This next chapter represents an exciting opportunity to create a lasting MCN for collaboration, connection, and career development within the Armed Forces community.
Exciting news, right?! Keep your eyes peeled over the next year as we'll keep you as updated as we can!
