About the Event
Join us at our forthcoming online Inspirational Speaker event, to hear how two ordinary women, both highly successful entrepreneurs in their own right, achieved the extraordinary through hard graft, true grit and single-minded determination, overcoming prejudices and juggling career with family commitments to achieve business success.
Topics they will both be covering, include:
- Introduction – about me
- My story – how I got to where I am today
- The challenges I faced
- How I overcame them
- The support I sought and found
- The learnings I derived
- How you can apply these learnings too.
We guarantee you’ll be inspired!
About the speakers
Ann Johnson is the Finance Director and Cofounder of Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, a family-owned business based in Scotland, which was named as one of the top 1,000 UK Companies to Inspire by the London Stock Exchange in 2017 – an organisation that literally started in a garden shed and grew into a highly-successful and reputable, global business.
Ann is also the President of the Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) Committee, a membership organisation that supports and inspires women in business to achieve their professional goals.
Alison Cowell is a world-renowned Holistic Nutritionist, International Speaker and Author. Having spent almost 13 years in New Zealand running private Health Eating Clinics, she returned to the UK in 2018 to be with her elderly Scottish parents and now runs a successful Health & Nutrition consultation business. She also works as a motivational speaker, raising health awareness and inspiring others to take control of their wellbeing.
Alison is Chair of the Dundee and Angus Women Ahead business network group (an affiliate member of the ASB) and like Ann, is committed to inspiring other women to achieve great things in business.
About ASB
The Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) was founded in 1995 as the umbrella organisation for our affiliate groups, direct and corporate members across Scotland. It is an Association for women in business, be it Self-Employed, Directors, Employed in an Organisation and with any level of experience and responsibility. We are focused on collaborating with other organisations to be able to inspire, link, and support our members to achieve their goals.
We work with other networking groups, business support organisations, the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and more to ensure our members have access to the best advice available, as well as delivering our Annual National Conference and our Annual National Business Awards.
We celebrate the success of Women in Business and encourage the voice of women today to be heard nationally and globally.
